Jérôme andPalmito were in Hollywood at Paramount studios and attended the first public projection of TURBO, a futuristic movie in which many characters wear Parasite sunglasses. www.turbothemovie.com



4 "big shorts" were presented that night, and 700 people linked with the world of Cinema attended this event.



Before and after the projection, people visited booths where the 4 short films were getting promoted... and so were Parasite sunglasses ! Parasite eyewear reached great success that night, as guests were curious before viewing TURBO, and directly asked us for Parasite stickers after the projection.



This journey in Hollywood has also been an opportunity to meet the TURBO team mates. We feel that we have so much things to share... Ideas and projects in common will follow ! To be continued...

Turbo hero's name is Hugo, just as Parasite's boss.





The Turbo main characters fight against each other in a ultra realistic video game. During the movie you can easily guess that Sunglasses allow the fighters to get a higher level of perception in the game.








During the fights, many spectators of the game also wear Parasite sunglasses...

Last Vision East fair in New York has been a great success for Parasite, and we are now very confident with Parasite's potential in the American market. This is why in early may Jérôme and Palmito drove through California for 13 days, to meet the local opticians and get a better view of the local market.
It was also a great way to visit the "Golden State" on board of a convertible Ford Mustang... From Los Angeles to San Francisco, by Route 1, from San Diego to Los Angeles by Redlands and Longbeach... Here are the photos from this great trip !.

Parasite representative Palmito attended A1GP race in Algarve (south of Portugal). A1GP cars are very close to the Formula 1 ones, and are all Powered by Ferrari.

1- ALGARVE



Algarve turned recently from a beautiful natural place to a touristic area.



Now a great autodrome also takes place close to city Portimao.





2 - QUALIFYING SESSIONS

Last october, Parasite guys attended the first GP of 2008-2009 season. Loïc Duval won that race for France.
Now Loïc focuses in 2 competitions in Japan, and formarly rookie Nicolas Prost has been promoted main pilot.



Algarve's qualifying sessions have been very unlucky for France, and morever Nicolas Prost does not benefit from the same experience as Loïc Duval did. France had to start last line on the grid.




3 - INTERVIEW WITH NICOLAS PROST



Then Nicolas Prost joined us for an interview. He told us about his story.



Nicolas Prost started his carreer very late, because his father refused him to try racing. Alain Prost was upset by Gilles Villeuneuve and Ayrton Senna's accidents and was conscious that racing can be very dangerous.
When Nicolas tried it for the first time, he did very well, and his father accepted him to be a pilot.



Knowing about the Prost family's story makes you feel a tough passion for racing, that can often be delighting and sometimes very cruel. You can see this in the eyes of Alain and Nicolas Prost.

5 - THE RACES




No way to get points on "Sprint Race": Considering the grid's position Team France's goal was to reach the finish line without damaging the car.




On "Feature Race" Nicolas Prost did a good drive. Many pilots went to fault. Half nations got off. France finished at 6th position, and is now ranked 5th in the championship.

Here it was: Milan Optical Fair has ended. There were not many visitors, and the atmosphere was weak on the booths. We talked a lot about the economic context and about the market, everyone shares the same constatation: CRISIS STRIKES.
We welcomed our partners in Marco's beautiful villa in the core of Milan, and it has been a good way to change our minds!

In a way to find an end in our negociations with our Japanese partners, we organized a Street Fighter tournament. You could hear HA DO KENs and SHO RYU KENs everywhere ine the showroom, and finaly France has beaten Japan !

Parasite provides 3 different types of lens: STAMINE (high protection solar lens), OVERLUX (Polarized lens), SYMPHOTON (Photochromic lens).
Parasite lenses are all Made in France and benefit from currently most advanced materials, processes and treatments.

MATERIALS: The Parasite solar lenses are made of polycarbonate. They filter 100 % UV rays (to 400 nm lenght of wave). And they filter (category 3 lenses) at least 88% of visible blue light (380 - 500 nm) that is noxious for the eyes.
OFF-CENTER LENSES: STAMINE lenses are 8 base (strongly curved lenses) and their optical center is shifted, in a way to solve the deformation caused by the curve of the lens.
ANTIREFLECTION: All Parasite solar lenses have got antireflection treatment on their back side. Thus they offer more precise vision and better comfort.
ANTISCRATCH: All Parasite solar lenses benefit from a special varnish that atenuates risks of scratchehs and abrasions.


Polarized light is orientated in one single direction direction (polarized wave). Most of reflected ligths are polarized. Polarized lenses filter these dazzling rays thanks to a special disposal of their molecules. They are very well adapted to driving (they stop rays reflected by windshields)

INJECTED POLARIZED LENS: Instead of being glued to the polarized film, the lens merges with it by injection. No way for the polarized film to get off, as it happens on most other polarized lenses. This also preserves clearness of vision and avoids distorsion of the optical.


Photochromic lenses are made of cells that get tainted by ambient light.

RESISTANT: SYMPHOTON lenses are active during 2 years in intense use.
REACTIVE: Solar protection evolves from category 1 to 3 in a few seconds.
DRIVE: Thanks to a combination of 2 types of photochromic cells, SYMPHOTON lenses work behind a windshield too (with 50% less variation).
