To the Origin

Hello to our friend Liv Sansoz, who goes around the world with her Parasite sunglasses, to conquer the greatest climbing spots. Here she is in West America...

She regularly tells us her enthusiasm about active holding frames. Well, this means that our current products fit with their original use.

Hugo Martin was thinking about Liv Sansoz, when he decided to create frames dedicated to mountain climbing, in year 2000. Below, the first prototype !

Parasite Casting 2008

From April to July, we travelled around France in order to find our models for the next advertising campaign. For this purpose, we organized casting in every town we planned to stop: Paris, Le Havre, Marseille, Toulouse, Nancy and Strasbourg for example. All participants have received their pictures, and those who have been chosen for the advertising won Parasites T-shirt and sun glasses. Now, the castings are finished and we are waiting for the jury's decision for knowing who will be the next models. Here are the best photos taken since the beginning:

Parasite à Milan 2 - WORLD PARTY

We received our customers in a beautiful showroom, and we also organised a party at VOLO, a very cool lounge bar in Milan. It has been a good way to spend good time with our partners... The photos speak better than words!

Parasite à Milan 1 - TIME TRAVEL

For Mido 2008, Parasite invited its partners to work in a magnificent villa in Milan. The villa's ancient style was offering such a contrast with Parasite Science Fiction eyewear ! Our guests were brought in an anachronism that seemed to be like a real time travel...

The presentation of the collections and order taking took place in a place that is much more firendly, and more adapted to it than the fair.

Wa had also enough space to do an oral and video show dealing with the Parasite culture.

We have even been able to consider the details in the different issues relative to distribution.

PARASITE in a RENAULT (2)

Designers at Renault integrated a magnet in the Renault Megane Coupé Concept. This magnets is used to put Parasite sunglasses on. It recalls the DEN, the magnetized display that Parasite provides to opticians. The Parasite logotype points to the magnet.

Thanks to the developpement team of Renault Mégane Coupé Concept, spécial thanks to
Nicolas Gaudron!

MONO - classical holding frames
- Urban (DARD)

The content and skin of the parasite eyewear website have been updated.

the MONOs and the STEREOs

Now Parasite has released classical holding eyewear: the MONOs(one single stem on each side of the face, lying on the ears!) Active holding frames are now named STEREOs (double stem, that grip behind the temples and one the cranium)

The war between holding systems is declared! Parasite runs both sides.

Why does Parasite launch the MONOs and why now?

- The Parasite brand has been created from the begining with the aim to diversify its product ranges (a ski goggle is being designed, ans other accessories are to be developped)
- The design of the Parasite frames has evolved since their first release. the identity of Parasite products is no longer a question of double stem. Thin and supple STEELSKIN metal, incredibly lightweight frames, Sport-Fashion aesthetic, extreme comfort, high quality finishes: This is what charactherises the Parasite design today.

There are many people who love Parasite, but never dared to wear such a radical product as STEREO active holding frames. It is not a product that everyone can assume

Now that Parasite design has been clearly defined and regularly renewed, now that the Parasite team has experienced several years in manufacturing and distributing their products, Parasite is ready to enter in the next step of its growth.

When Parasite designer Hugo Martin first showed the MONO prototypes to his team, they put them on just like active Holding frames...
Who would dare to say that these classical holding frames are not Parasite eyewear ?

TURBO eyewear

Parasite enters Hollywood, in a movie whose universe clearly fits the Parasite spirit: TURBO is a short movie directed by Jarrett Lee Conaway and produced by Garrett T. Thompson of BFAM Studios. It tells the story of Hugo Kai, the world’s most famous video game player, who competes in a photo-realistic 4D fighting game called TURBO. To cope with his brother’s sudden death, Hugo creates a character in the likeness of his deceased brother and enters the tournament in an attempt to defeat the unbeaten champion.
TURBO's heroes wear Clone and Morph eyewear models. The Movie release is expected end 2008

Here is the link to the studios that produce TURBO :

Silmo 2007 : Parasite 2.0 in orbit

At Silmo 2007, parasite displayed its "skin 2.0" for the first time. It is the signal for the new era that starts now for the brand: release of new models with more meca-robotic and less organic style, launch of classical holding solar frames range. Parasite renews to grow, and sets a new baseline linked to its logotype: Grip Life!

Grip Life

Naming yourself Parasite means being ready to drag from otherones’ lifes to live yours. It means being conscious to be linked and mutually dependant with a gathering of complex and moving networks. Griping Life is a philosophy:  making the most of every instant, of every experience, of every link that the movement of life offers. It is being expansive, adapting to changes.

Silmo : Parasite's sixth edition

Silmo is a great unique moment for Parasite: we love this fair, its animation (we meet there a lot of opticians) the silmo d'or awards (we never win anything but we have a lot of fun there) we like our position (in the middle of Hall 1, it is the core of the show!). Well, we feel at home (This is normal, it takes place in France, doesn't it ?)

Silmo : The booth illuminated

Silmo celebrated its 40 years old, and Parasite, who was born at Silmo 2002, switched on a few neons for its 5 years... We wanted to reveal the beginning of a new era for Parasite, and we deeply changed the style of our booth: we kissed red color goodbye, and welcomed white and gray and black and fluo green, it is much fresher, more cyber. The key of this new atmosphere is the roof, set with a net of green and white neons that are disposed in oblique crossings. It makes you think about Daft Punk's concert ? Well, we were there!

Silmo : The booth animated

We gave a greater place to opening the booth, and structuring it in a minimalist "intelligent Science Fiction" Style. On the wall and on the roof one can read "Parasite: Sport + Fashion = Science + Fiction" (spirit of the products) and "Parasite Grip Life" (spirit of the brand). Left side: reception and casting space. Right side: selling space. Ahead: a classy presentation of the new models released at the show. The booth was beautiful and very functionnal, it clearly did pass the announcement of the renewal of Parasite on.
